About Us

Economics and Finance Society BEA HKUSU (EFS) is one of the largest non-profit-making student-run organizations in The University of Hong Kong since its establishment in 1940. EFS aims at enhancing students’ interest in economics and finance and acting as a bridge between the School and students.

Last year, more than 2000 students have been enrolled as Members of our Society and this covers more than one-sixth of the students in The University of Hong Kong. This year, we will continue to put tremendous effort in organizing a plethora of Projects and Functions to promote general welfare among our valued Members and the general public.

The 78th Inauguration Ceremony

The 78th Inauguration Ceremony is the first Project of Economics and Finance Society BEA HKUSU (EFS) Session 2017-2018. The aims of the Project are to mark the commencement of the new Cabinet and officially introduce the new Cabinet to External Entities. This also marks the continuity of the Society, stepping into the 78th year.

Theme

This year, our theme “Shine with Lusters, Build in Clusters” places emphasis on the bright future of the new Cabinet. It implies that the Cabinet will strive to bring infectious inspirations and tow our Members to move forward. Our theme object, Sky Lantern, which can be released to the sky, symbolizes that the Projects and Functions we hold are obvious to all and will be shiny and brilliant.
